Account Based Ticketing<\/p>\n<\/div>
1.1. These terms and conditions explain your use of the ABT Travel Card linked to a Registered ABT Mobility Account.<\/p>\n
1.2. By registering your ABT Mobility Account, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.<\/p>\n
1.3. All ABT Mobility Accounts used only for public transport shall be operated on a pre-paid basis.<\/p>\n
1.4. These Terms and Conditions are applicable to Mobility Account holders with only ABT Travel Cards and not motor vehicles linked to their accounts.<\/p>\n
1.5. As soon as a Mobility Account holder adds a motor vehicle to their account, the full SANRAL eToll Terms and Conditions as published on the SANRAL eToll Website will apply.<\/p>\n<\/div>
2.1. \u201cABT<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means Account Based Ticketing;<\/p>\n 2.2. \u201cABT Call Centre<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means SANRAL ABT Call Centre 011 083 3556;<\/p>\n 2.3. \u201cABT Mobility Account<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means the account that you open to use the ABT Travel Card on public transport services;<\/p>\n 2.4. \u201cABT Travel Card<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means a Travel Card that can be used on ABT participating public transport services;<\/p>\n 2.5. \u201cABT Travel Card Issuer<\/strong>\u201d – means the entity from which you can get an ABT Travel card;<\/p>\n 2.6. \u201cAppointed Agents<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means Public Transport Operator or SANRAL appointed Top-up agents;<\/p>\n 2.7. \u201cBusiness day<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means Monday to Friday, not including public holidays;<\/p>\n 2.8. \u201cCPA<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means the Consumer Protection Act, No. 68 of 2008;<\/p>\n 2.9. \u201cEFT<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means Electronic Funds Transfer;<\/p>\n 2.10. \u201cFare transaction<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means the fare charged to the ABT Mobility Account;<\/p>\n 2.11. “Personal Information<\/strong>” \u2013 means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person;<\/p>\n 2.12. \u201cPIN<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means a personal identification number used to provide additional security on an account or card;<\/p>\n 2.13. \u201cPOPIA<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means the Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013;<\/p>\n 2.14. \u201cRegistered<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means an ABT Mobility Account that is personalised in your name;<\/p>\n 2.15. \u201cSANRAL<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means the South African National Roads Agency;<\/p>\n 2.16. \u201cTCH<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means Transactions Clearing House;<\/p>\n 2.17. \u201cTop-up agent<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means an agent to assist with the top-up of your ABT Mobility Account;<\/p>\n 2.18. \u201cTravel Card number<\/strong>\u201d – means the 16-digit number on the front of an ABT Travel Card;<\/p>\n 2.19. \u201cUnregistered<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 means an ABT Mobility Account that has not been registered.<\/p>\n<\/div> 3.1. All persons participating in public transport services using an ABT Travel Card do so entirely at their own risk.<\/p>\n 3.2. SANRAL, its shareholders, subcontractors, affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, servants, or agents are not liable for any loss or damages (including consequential, special damages or loss of profits), loss of life, bodily injury, or damage to or loss of property of whatsoever nature and howsoever caused.<\/p>\n<\/div> 4.1. Natural persons older than 18 years;<\/p>\n 4.2. Minors should be registered under their parents or legal guardians. These may be linked as additional ABT Travel Cards to the account; or<\/p>\n 4.3. Companies.<\/p>\n<\/div> 5.1. You must choose one of the following payment methods to top-up your ABT Mobility Account:<\/p>\n 5.1.1. Top-up your account at an appointed top-up agent; or<\/p>\n 5.1.2. A card payment can be made through the SANRAL Mobile App; or<\/p>\n 5.1.3. By EFT, using the SANRAL beneficiary created by your bank, or using the following banking details: – SANRAL (TCH), Bank: FNB, Branch: Corporate Banking, Branch code: 250655, Account number: 62280212607. The Travel Card number as reflected on the face of the ABT Travel Card must be used as the payment reference.<\/p>\n<\/div> 6.1. It is the account holder\u2019s responsibility to make sure that there is enough money in the account to pay for public transport fares.<\/p>\n 6.2. Transactions may not be processed if there is not enough money to pay for the public transport fares.<\/p>\n 6.3. A registered ABT Travel Card holder may obtain a list of their transaction for up to 3 months. These transactions can be obtained from the SANRAL Mobile App.<\/p>\n 6.4. A registered ABT Mobility Account holder shall have the option to:<\/p>\n 6.4.1. amend account information;<\/p>\n 6.4.2. add additional ABT Travel Cards to the account,<\/p>\n 6.4.3. recover username;<\/p>\n 6.4.4. reset password;<\/p>\n 6.4.5. report lost or stolen travel cards;<\/p>\n 6.4.6. link multiple ABT Travel Cards;<\/p>\n 6.4.7. choose payment options; and<\/p>\n 6.4.8. change payment methods;<\/p>\n These functions are available through the SANRAL Mobile App and ABT Call Centre.<\/p>\n 6.5. An ABT Mobility Account that has not been used for a period of 12 months will be regarded as inactive. Once an ABT Mobility Account is inactive for a period of 3 years it will be closed, and the following rules will apply:<\/p>\n 6.5.1. For unregistered ABT Mobility Accounts, the available funds in the Account will be transferred to a suspense Account;<\/p>\n 6.5.2. For registered ABT Mobility Accounts, the available funds will be transferred to the ABT Mobility Account holder through the refunds process. If an Account holder cannot be located the funds will be transferred to a suspense Account.<\/p>\n 6.6. If the ABT Mobility Account is used within the 12 months period, the account will automatically become active.<\/p>\n 6.7. A request can be logged via the SANRAL Mobile App or with the ABT Call Centre to close the ABT Mobility Account. Available funds will be refunded to the registered ABT Mobility Account holder when the account is closed.<\/p>\n 6.8. A refund will be given after 30 days when an ABT Mobility Account is closed. The account holder must submit a copy of their Identity Document or Passport for the refund to be paid by EFT or cash.<\/p>\n 6.9. If an ABT Travel Card is lost, stolen or damaged, it should be reported, and a new card obtained from the ABT Travel Card Issuer.<\/p>\n 6.10. The new or replaced card can be linked to the ABT Mobility Account and the balance on the account will be retained.<\/p>\n 6.11. A faulty or damaged ABT Travel Card will be replaced by the ABT Travel Card Issuer.<\/p>\n<\/div>3. Exclusion of liability <\/h3><\/div>
